The pathway toward self-sufficiency for residents without addresses can sometimes start with the most basic of necessities often overlooked for individuals in greater need: clean clothes.

That is why UCC launched a new mobile laundry wash trailer that is aimed to increase hygiene access to community members facing homelessness. The mobile laundry unit, which is free to use, is equipped with four washers, four dryers, and a utility sink to help promote better hygiene.

UCC received financial support from the state Department of Community Affairs to acquire the mobile laundry trailer.

The agency also received support for the mobile laundry trailer from Amerigroup, the National Community Action Partnership and a donation of eco-friendly, laundry detergent from Earth Breeze.
