Emergency Respite Pilot Program

UCC continues to expand its commitment to serving the Greater Newark community by offering comprehensive support to individuals facing housing insecurity through the Emergency Respite Pilot Program. The program provides temporary shelter and essential services for individuals in urgent need referred directly through University Hospital. This vital initiative aims to bridge the gap between healthcare and housing by offering immediate assistance to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
The Emergency Respite Pilot Program not only offers temporary shelter but connects participants with wraparound case management services to address their broader needs. Individuals enrolled in the program receive support in accessing housing resources, navigating their medical needs, and obtaining basic essentials such as clothing, food, and hygiene products.
