NJ's Eviction Protections & Self-Certification Form

If you live in a NJ household with income below 120% of your county's

Area Median Income (AMI), you are permanently protected from eviction or removal at any time

for nonpayment of rent, habitual late payment of rent, or failure to accept a rent increase that

accrued from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021.

  • The eviction moratorium is not automatic for those who are eligible
  • Each individual MUST self-certify by completing the Income Self-Certification Form online.
  • Address, county of residence, total number of household members, and household income are required.
