Our Mission

UCC’s mission is to assist low-income, disadvantaged and at risk individuals and families, including seniors and youth, to become self-sufficient and self supporting; while enhancing their quality of life and standard of living.

Our Impact:
Building a Self-Sufficient Community

Our impact is felt across Newark and Essex County, where we work tirelessly to address both immediate crises and the long-term root causes of poverty. In recent years, we have expanded our reach to ensure that no resident is left behind, regardless of their background or current circumstances.

From providing dignified access to basic hygiene and nutritious food to stabilizing families through proactive housing interventions, our work is centered on restoring the dignity and self-worth of every individual we serve. We believe that a stable community is built one household at a time, and our efforts to revitalize local neighborhoods through affordable housing and environmental stewardship are creating a safer, more sustainable community for generations to come.
