If you or someone you know are in need of food, baby items, clothing, shelter, energy assistance, pending eviction or mortgage assistance, at risk of lead exposure at home, are a victim of a crime, and/or need youth development activities or young adult vocational training we have a department here to help!
The Department of Community Engagements mission is to actively interact and engage with members of the community to make both potential and current clients and volunteers aware of all of the services that United Community Corporation offers. We also promote and support United Community Corporation’s overall goal of moving people from dependency to self-sufficiency.
The Community Engagement Department :
- Has been extremely successful in increasing UCC’s presence in the media with appearances on NJ.com, Yahoo, Patch, El Especialto Newspaper and Essex Daily News - in addition to being featured in Newark’s own The Star-Ledger.
- Uses our massive food distribution events to promote all of UCC’s services that can help fulfill even more of our clients’ needs.
- Actively seeks new marketing opportunities to spread the word about everything UCC is doing to serve the community.
- Maintains United Community Corporation’s website and social media account to keep them all up-to-date with fresh and engaging content.
Making things happen
The Community Engagement Department is extremely involved with event planning and organizing, which includes but is not limited to logistical setup, volunteer coordinating, designing t-shirts, banners and flyers, photography / media exposure opportunities, and day-of-event management.
